YDP Christmas Party
Last Monday was one of our most attended YDP Christmas party ever. I did not get a total count, everyone was moving around to much for that. I do apologize for not having sufficient seating for all, but it seemed that adults shared what was there by getting up to stretch their legs once in a while. Most of the kids seemed happy enough to sit on the floor to devour their meal. The shooting part of the evening seemed secondary.
Thanks to Vince who again procured and installed the tree. It was then expertly decorated by Kaity Horlock and Yuan Chih Yin, William’s mom. The food was again great and plentiful. Thanks to all the parents that contributed to the great variety of dishes and all the sweets that crowded the food tables. Three or four fathers braved the cold to cook the hamburgers to perfection on the outdoor BBQs. Several mothers handled various jobs in the kitchen. The cleanup too went flawlessly with many pitching in to do that necessary job. The kitchen had not looked that good for a long time. Thanks again to all.
I must again thank all the coaches who assisted and ran the Youth Development program program every Monday evening. I am sure they get as much satisfaction out of their efforts as the youth who benefit from their work. I hope they will all be back for the next session. The winter session begins on January 14th, 2013. In the meantime I wish you all a very Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year.
